RACE DAY

1. When and where will the race be held?

New Balance REAL Run 2010 will be held on 17 October 2010, at Changi Exhibition Centre @ Aviation Park Road.

2. When and where can I collect the goodie bag?

Goodie bags will only be given out on Race Day, 17 October 2010, strictly upon the presentation of the goodie bag redemption tear-out portion on the number bib at the end of the race.

3. What are the items in the goodie bag?

The items in the goodie bag includes a New Balance Lightning Dry T-shirt, Sling bag, finisher’s medal and various sponsors’ items.

4. What are the sizes available for the T-shirt?

Upon completion of the race, t-shirt sizes are available in XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, on a first come, first served basis.

5. Are there any lockers available to keep my valuables?

Baggage deposit is available for a fee of S$ 1.00 at Changi Exhibition Centre. Participants are advised not to leave any cash or valuables (including but not limited to mobile phones) at the baggage deposit counter as HomeTeamNS shall not be responsible or liable in the event of any loss.

6. Will a certificate be awarded after I complete the race?

An individualized certificate will be posted to participants after the race.

REGISTRATION

1. How will I know if my registration is successful?

All participants will receive an Official Receipt / Confirmation Slips (hand copy for registration in person or soft copy through online registration) after payment is made.

2. Can I register as a group with my family and friends?

Yes. For group registration of 50 pax and above, a discount privilege of S$ 3.00 off the normal registration fee per person shall apply. Registration is only available at HomeTeamNS @ Bukit Batok. (Please e-mail enquiries@REALrun.sg for more information).

3. Will I get refunded should I choose not to participate in the event after registration?

No. Once the registration form has been duly processed, there shall be no fee refund for those participants who eventually do not take part for whatsoever reasons.

4. Can I transfer/change the Race category after I have registered?

Race category or race entry is not transferable. Any request for change of category will be subjected to an administration fee of S$ 10.00.

5. What is the HomeTeamNS Corporate Race?

Corporate organisations can form a team of 10 runners to compete in the HomeTeamNS Corporate Race, which covers a 15km route over 4 terrains (Road/Taxiway, Trail, and Sand). The HomeTeamNS Corporate Race is restricted to employees of the said company registered. Results will be tabulated based on the total net time of the top 8 runners. A registration fee of S$ 35.00 will be charged per participant. Besides receiving an exclusive event t-shirt, there will be a goodie bag and a chance to win attractive prizes in the lucky draw.

ROUTE

1. How long will the route be closed to traffic?

On Race Day, there will be a full road closure from Tanah Merah Coast Road to Airport Logistics Park of Singapore from 6.30am to 10.00am. Road closure will be lifted after 10.00am; participants will be directed by route marshals to continue on footpath or park connectors.

MODE OF TRANSPORT

1. How can I get to the Race venue by Island-Wide Shuttle Bus Service?

Island-wide shuttle bus services will be available at 8 MRT stations and locations. The bus service will bring runners directly to the race venue at Changi Exhibition Centre. Bus coupons can be purchased at S$ 3.00 each from the New Balance REAL Run Prelude at Velocity @ Novena Square on 1st to 3rd October 2010.

(Sales of Bus Coupon on the morning of Race Day at respective pick-up points are subjected to availability and will be at S$ 5.00 each. Pre-purchase of bus coupons at the New Balance REAL Run Prelude is strongly encouraged as limited seats are available).

2. How can I get to the Race Venue by Private Vehicles?

Participants with private vehicle can park their vehicle at the 2,000 FREE parking lots available at Changi Exhibition Centre Carpark. Participants are advised to reach Changi Exhibition Centre before 6.00am to avoid the peak hour (6.00am to 6.30am) traffic congestion.

The entrance to Changi Exhibition Centre will be closed to traffic from the period of 6.30am to 10.00am during the race, vehicles will not be allowed for entry/ exit during this period.

Participants are advised to remove their vehicles from Changi Exhibition Centre Carpark before the Changi Exhibition Centre gate closure at 3.00pm.

3. Is there any free Shuttle Bus Service available?

Free Shuttle Bus Service will be available at Pasir Ris Bus Interchange (Bus berth next to Transit Link Office) and Changi Exhibition Centre.

Participants are advised to board the shuttle bus before 6.30am. The last bus will leave Pasir Ris Bus Interchange at 6.45am.

TRAINING

1. Is there any training/trial run provided before the actual event?

Yes. Lead runners will guide participants along the entire 10km and 15km route. Beginners are encouraged to test out the cross terrain route too. A short safety briefing will be conducted by the organising committee before the commencement of the training run at 7.30am sharp.

Participants are to assemble at the Changi Exhibition Centre, outdoor display area. Flag-off will commence along the outdoor display area next to the control tower at 7.00am sharp.

2. Where can I park my car during the training/trial run day?

It is recommended for participants to park at CEC carpark and walk to CEC outdoor display area for the flag-off.

PRELUDE

1. When and where is the New Balance REAL Run 2010 Prelude?

The Prelude will be held at Velocity@Novena Square, 238 Thomson Road, S (307683) on 1st – 3rd October 2010, from 10am to 8pm.

2. What can I do at the Prelude?

You can collect your Race Pack and purchase bus coupons for Race Day island-wide transportation.

All participants are required to produce their Official Receipt(s) or Confirmation Slips for the collection of the Race Pack

3. What is inside the Race Pack?

The Race Pack consists of the Number Bib and Race Chip and important Race Day information.

Participants cannot start the race without the Number Bib and Race Chip. All runners must collect their Race Pack at the New Balance REAL Run 2010 Prelude.

4. Can I collect the Race Pack for my friends/family members?

Yes. The representative is required to produce all Official Receipts or Confirmation Slips of all the participants in order to collect the Race Pack on their behalf.

OTHERS

1. How does Race Chip (also known as ChampionChip) timing works?

Race Chip timing system is used to provide the most accurate Race time possible for a large group of runners at one go. All participants in New Balance REAL Run 2010 will be timed using the Race Chip.

In accordance with the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF), the official recognised race time is based on Gun Time* for all categories except the 100PLUS HomeTeamNS Team and HomeTeamNS Corporate Race category, which will be using the Chip Time**.

*Gun Time includes whatever distance you have to cover before actually reaching the Start Line.

**Chip Time indicates the time taken when runners run past the ChampionChip Mat from the Start Line, Checkpoints and till the End Point.

2. What happens if I lost any of the Number Bib or Race Chip?

Replacement of Number Bibs and Race Chip can be done at HomeTeamNS @ Bukit Batok before 15 October 2010, 12.00pm, at S$ 5.00 and S$ 50.00 respectively.

3. Can I rollerblade or cycle during the race instead?

Any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. in-line skates, prams, push cars, shoes with rollers, etc are not allowed on the whole course.

4. Can I bring my pets along?

No. Running/Walking with pets is strictly disallowed in this race.
