HomeTeamNS was formed on 1 April 2005 through the merger of the Civil Defence Association for National Servicemen (CDANS) and the Singapore Police Association for National Servicemen (SPANS). The integration of CDANS and SPANS brings about greater synergy and provides a shared environment for Police and Civil Defence NSmen to network and build greater camaraderie. HomeTeamNS now has a membership base of 175,000 with five premium clubhouses located at Bukit Batok, Balestier, Sembawang, Smith Street and UE Square and eight semi-detached holiday chalets in Pasir Ris. Members also enjoy more benefits, privileges and activities. As part of its outreach efforts, HomeTeamNS bonds with the community through events such as the REAL Run and Strongman Challenge, exemplifying its support towards healthy lifestyles.
